11 Months & WALKING!!!!
3 days before Luke turned 11 months, he started WALKING!!!! We all knew it would happen before the 1 year mark, and it sure did. He loves it and sure has taken off quickly.
Luke's really been into legos lately, even though they are for age 2+, I don't think he can choke on a huge, large, hard piece of plastic. His bedtime routine has stayed consistent with going to bed at 7:30 and wakes up around 7am. Naps around 2.5 hours (between 2 naps) in the day. He eats everything we do and has yet to turn away something we offer him, which is GREAT! We have been blessed with a good eater!!!
I started incorporating whole milk this past week, so he's in the weaning process! His big 1st Birthday is in the works, so lots of photos to come next month!
For the next kid...
I know I'm going to complain about breastfeeding whenever our next kid comes around, so this is for me (or should I say Tyler) to remind me why it's truly the best!
Breastfeeding:
1. The best milk for my baby that provides all of the nutrients/antibodies he needs. God designed the milk to change with your babies needs, HE is so unique.
2. It's FREE!!!! Convenient, perfect temperature ALL the time and FREE!!!! I stay at home, so saving $20+/week in formula is a must!
3. Bonding time with my baby. I'm what he needs and I love that. Time with just him that no body else gets, sure....sounds selfish, but I did carry him in my wound for 9 months! haha.
4. Did I mention convenient? It's ready whenever baby needs it. Anywhere. Anytime.
5. The one week Luke was sick and only wanted bottles made for a messy/stressful week. Bottles/pumping creates SO many dirty dishes. YUCK!
6. It was soothing for baby, thus creating bedtime routine or naps to go smoothly because he was ultimately comforted with warm/fresh milk.
The hard parts....Establishing the demand at first, but pain goes away quickly. It takes a selfless love for your baby to be all that he/she needs for the first year, which at times got frustrating. God quickly reminded me that HE gave me this baby to nurture and provide for, the least I could do is get over my "I just want out of the house attitude" and take care of my baby daily!
I've been blessed to provide what Luke needed for his first year of life and I pray this can be the case in the future.

10 Months
A few days after 9 months and the last post...
-Luke started saying MOMMA!!!! It's beautiful music to my ears!
-Also, he started giving big open mouth kisses. Slobbery, wet and so LOVEABLE!!! He is so sweet!
-Babbled dog, dog, dog
-Walked really fast using the push toy for the first time. No practice, just took off.
In the past weeks...
-He waves Bye-Bye (to dad mainly)
-Gives high-fives (to dad, of course!)
Still one of his favorite things to do is read books and he even flips the page! We have been spoiled with his great eating routines and him sleeping close to 12 hours in the night and about 2 1/2 hours of naps during the day.
We takes lots of walks and as of about 2 months ago, we put him in the jogging stroller and run about 3x a week to prep for our first 5K! Yep, Tyler & I running in a 5K! This is something I never imagined us doing, but thus far we have enjoyed it and look forward to racing at HCC in October.
Youth Group/Tyler's job keeps us crazy busy at times...We love the kids and it's so cool to help serve the Lord in ways that grow our faith more than we can ever imagine. To God be the Glory!

9 Months
A few things I love about Luke...
The few times a week he lets me cuddle and rock him just because..even if it is short lived.
His deep belly laugh at Chloe.
Being super excited when he sees Tyler and lights up the room with his smile!
When asking him "How big is Luke?" and he throws his hands in the air and we say "SO BIG!"
His good eating habits.
Watching him play with his toys.
The list could go on, but I'll stop there :)
Luke weighed in at 22 pounds 14 oz and was 30 inches in length. 95% for both still and he's a healthy, growing boy!

Luke: 8 Months
All of a sudden Luke can crawl very fast now, go from crawling to sitting, pull up on everything to stand, and feed himself (some stuff anyway!) .....I think we've seen the biggest changes in the past few weeks.
Luke has his top 2 teeth as well now and we may get a small teething break here for a week or so before top sides start to break thru! woohoo! :(
Food: We've been pretty care free letting him try lots of new things (maybe a little earlier than most first time parents, but he loves it!) Luke has thus enjoyed pizza, grilled cheese, meatloaf, lasagna, and his normal fruits and veggies. Our garden this summer has provided us plenty of green beans and zucchini - so he's getting his fill of healthy too!
Luke hugs his pick-a-boo bear and we are trying to teach him certain signs like: Hi/Bye, more (food), all done, so BIG, etc... I can't wait for him to repeat one!
One of his all time favorite things to do that I can't believe I haven't mentioned is read books! Barnyard dance, snuggle puppy, Moo-baa-lalalaa....So, all Sandra Boynton Books :)
Still says "dadadada" for everything!

Luke: 7 Months today
Luke is 7 Months today!
Luke has his 2 bottom front teeth and from the looks of it the top 2 are coming in! Teething in the Klein house has not been fun (but thankfully he still sleeps thru the night!)
Luke LOVES: CHLOE (he laughs at her all the time), his johnny jumper, bouncy in our arms, riding bikes/walks in the subdivision and swimming at the pool. He also loves playing with the remote (we gave him a broken one just for him!)
Food: Luke eats really anything (thankful he's not picky)...He rotates between green beans, carrots, peas, sweet potatoes (his favorite), pears, bananas, apple sauce, and enjoy cherry yogurt drops. Luke still nurses and eats regular food 3x a day.
Luke can sit up on his own and crawl (more like scoots) backwards. He sleeps from 7:30pm to 7:00am and takes 2 naps that total around 3 hours during the day. What can I say, he likes to sleep, just like his momma!
Luke now stretches his arms out to go from mom and dad (or nana!) He's gives us lots of smiles and Tyler thinks he got the first hug today in the pool :)

5 Year Anniversary
We've had such a fun day celebrating our 5 year anniversary (that makes 10 years of being together!) I'm speechless for what a nice/relaxing day we had and just praise God for the years he's given us and especially for our little bundle of joy that lights up our life!

Luke: 6 Months Young
Luke turned 6 months this past Sunday! We had time to visit Aunt Jonica and she took some awesome photos for us in the park across from her apartment. She moved about 6 weeks ago, so it was nice to finally see where she lives and works. I have to admit I am jealous that she lives in such a cool place with things to do -- city life! We were able to catch up with a few friends from college and meet their daughter. She liked Luke and wanted to hold him (even though he looked bigger than her!)
Today, Luke had his 6 mo check up and weighed in at 20 #'s, 8 oz and was 28'' in length. That's 95% for both (he's a big boy!) I had to survive being in the room during his shots for the first time because Tyler had to get back to work. Luke was a trooper and we are both home now and he's taking a nap :)
Here are a few photos from the park:
It's officially summer for our YG kids, so it will be fun to go hiking with them this week, summer solitude next week and so many other things going on in the coming months!
In the meantime, we are looking forward to some rest tonight after going non stop to Indy, Memorial day with my family and then Monday with Tyler's family! It's been fun :)
Things to be thankful for today: a HEALTHY baby!!! I will never take for granted the things he can do because I know that's not the case for all babies. I am thankful for safe travels and time with our families.
Prayer Requests: To show more of Christ in my everyday life and less of me.

Then there were 3...
A lot happened in the past 2 years, but I don't want to bore you, so let's just say I'm starting back up this blog because of a baby who has completely stolen my heart, Luke! There are so many new things that happen daily/weekly and I don't ever want to forget his milestones, so what better way to record them then here!? After all, this is the blog we started before getting married and allowed you to see our first apartment, we wrote about our first real jobs, graduating college, God bringing us home, buying a house, and now the best chapter yet...making a family!
Let's just jump back to November 26, 2012 at 8:48pm when Luke joined the world! 8 lbs 11 oz, 21 inches long and growing like crazy ever since! Wow, nothing describes the love of the Lord better then when you wrap your arms around your own baby and realize everything Christ did for us!
I liked having Luke towards the beginning of winter because it was a great excuse to stay at home and be warm! In the past 6 months, Luke has gained a ton of weight (specifics coming next week after his 6 mo appt), traveled to Destin, Fl, eats green beans, peas and sweet potatoes (first time today for the sweet potatoes and he loved them), he's been to several youth nights, stayed at Nana Karen's once, started teething (just one right now on the bottom!) and is starting to sit up. Things are happening too fast.
Tyler has a crazy busy summer ahead and Luke & I will get to join him at one of the many youth trips he has to plan. I promise, photos and updates to follow. For some strange reason, Luke allows me to write a novel on here, I hope your not too bored! ;)
Things I am thankful for today:
A Godly husband who leads us in the Word, my church family and those people I am close with who I will spend an eternity with in heaven, family living close, my 2 adorable nephews who also have part of my heart (you'll see plenty of photos of them too!) and lastly, where God has us right now -- the center of His will.
