Grandparents day at IWU!!!

IWU hosts Grandparents day every year, and last year Grandpa and Grandma Rocke joined us, but we failed to get pictures - but we made sure to get some this year! We had a blast eating lunch at Baldwin, driving around in golf carts, grilling out, playing games, and gma/gpa treated us grandkids to Applebees!

Our senior year in college seems to be going smoothly, extremely busy lately, but we know our rewards are close! Tyler has a great theology class that seems to get pretty deep, but he loves every minute of it - he can tell you more about his classes when we see you! Tyler has the highest GPA in the Religion department at IWU (yay!) and so he got the honor of carrying in the flag at the students convocation last week. It's a great honor and I love to brag about him and all of his hard work!
I'm in an 8 week managerial accounting course right now, going well so far. Our department gets really busy in the fall and we've had three event in the past week, and a few more coming up in October - it all seems to be going really fast lately.

We pick up Chloe this coming weekend!!! Grandma helped me make her a bed, and Tyler and I bought everything else the princess would need :) haha. I'm SO excited to finally have her here in Marion and start training her!! Pictures to come!

Our newest addition...

Her name is Chloe :) My parents two boxers had babies and Tyler said I could finally have one! We got to visit her a few weeks ago (she's two weeks in this picture) and named her, but we don't get to have her until Sept. 28th :( She has to be with her mom until then... I'm trying to wait patiently.
Tyler starts school a week from Tuesday - senior year begins! Of course, I'm on my first break since last Christmas when he starts back up, go figure! Oh well, I have four classes left until I'm done and we'll get to graduate on the same day :)
Tyler's Uncle Denny and Aunt Laura stopped by this weekend and we taught them a new game called Ticket to ride - very fun! We had a great time with them, and we also had some friends from IL visit - Korie and Brittany Lyons :) We thank God for good friends and family!
More to come later - we send our love!

Summer Events

No need to update this anymore when everyone is now on facebook! In case someone out there does read - summer is flying by! We celebrated our one year anniversary on June 14th! We ate our 1 yr old cake - which was incredible and we celebrated in Ft. Wayne going to Biaggi's.. Yes, same as restaurant in Bloomington - I've been craving it ever since we moved out of state.

We enjoyed a week away with the youth group on "Summer Solitude." This was 4 days in the middle of nowhere growing in our relationship with Christ and friendships. We love those kids and had an absolute blast!

Last weekend we spent at Cedar point amusement park with my Kady, Zach, and Justin. (All of these pictures from these events are on facebook!) We love roller coasters and the weather was perfect.

School (for me) is going great as usual, and work for both of us is still good. Tyler's fall semester begins in September - but more about that later. We are ready to graduate next April, but not ready to think about all the work over our summer break!

All of our bigger events this summer seem to be finally winding down. This is our first weekend at home together in 6 weeks - we are thrilled. We may go rent a movie and lounge around all day!!! (I want to sneak a little quilting in the mix, but I'm sure my honey won't mind!)

Some words that stuck with me in a book I am reading entitled This Momentary Marriage -Dietrich Bonhoeffer--“Welcome one another . . . for the glory of God.” That is God’s word for your marriage. Thank him for it; thank him for leading you thus far; ask him to establish your marriage, to confirm it, sanctify it, and preserve it. So your marriage will be “for the praise of his glory.” Amen.

Love from over our way - Tyler and Jena
