Summer Events

No need to update this anymore when everyone is now on facebook! In case someone out there does read - summer is flying by! We celebrated our one year anniversary on June 14th! We ate our 1 yr old cake - which was incredible and we celebrated in Ft. Wayne going to Biaggi's.. Yes, same as restaurant in Bloomington - I've been craving it ever since we moved out of state.

We enjoyed a week away with the youth group on "Summer Solitude." This was 4 days in the middle of nowhere growing in our relationship with Christ and friendships. We love those kids and had an absolute blast!

Last weekend we spent at Cedar point amusement park with my Kady, Zach, and Justin. (All of these pictures from these events are on facebook!) We love roller coasters and the weather was perfect.

School (for me) is going great as usual, and work for both of us is still good. Tyler's fall semester begins in September - but more about that later. We are ready to graduate next April, but not ready to think about all the work over our summer break!

All of our bigger events this summer seem to be finally winding down. This is our first weekend at home together in 6 weeks - we are thrilled. We may go rent a movie and lounge around all day!!! (I want to sneak a little quilting in the mix, but I'm sure my honey won't mind!)

Some words that stuck with me in a book I am reading entitled This Momentary Marriage -Dietrich Bonhoeffer--“Welcome one another . . . for the glory of God.” That is God’s word for your marriage. Thank him for it; thank him for leading you thus far; ask him to establish your marriage, to confirm it, sanctify it, and preserve it. So your marriage will be “for the praise of his glory.” Amen.

Love from over our way - Tyler and Jena

Happy 22nd Birthday Tyler!!!!!
We Love you!!!

Surprise!!! It was Karen's Big Birthday this year so us kids threw her a surprise birthday party last Sunday. It was great - Jonica planned most of it and had a great idea of how to get mom to the church secretly - and since mom suspected Jonica was at work she had NO idea it was coming! It was a great time of fellowship and clearly mom wasn't to upset because we are still alive!

While in Illinois we got to spend time with both families and the youth - it was a great break for Tyler and I from our hectic schedules.

Tyler's semester ended superbly (All A's as usual!) But as of right now he's job searching - so pray something perfect will come along that will give him full time hours this summer. The bookstore can only give him about 8 hours a week :( He's had a few interviews and really has his heart set on an outside job working with his hands (typical farm boy!) Tyler works so hard during the school year, I wish he'd just take the summer to recharge, but we are both adamant on saving for a house in the next year, the extra money would easily be saved for that next phase of life!
Although Tyler's semester came to an end, my schooling goes all summer long and doesn't end till we graduate next spring. It's getting more difficult since we are now seniors in college, but it's so much fun!
Our other big news is that we move into the downstairs apartment in a few weeks (Apt A now-same address)...We are excited to have a bigger living space, back porch, washer/dryer, and a dining room table!!! Thing we didn't have room for before :) We praise God even for the little things.
Oh- I donated my 10 inches to locks-of-love, in case you noticed something different about my hair! Time for a summer hair cut and donating to a good cause! yay :)

We are sending our love and look forward to being home the last week in May to see everyone.
